Dude, there are 4000+ ppl at swgemu.com signed up, now if a mere 1% of those ppl can do what the devs can do that is 40 ppl, and the dev team has about 5 ppl , so there would be 35 ppl out there that could, and honestly, i could do it if i was on a team, need a team tho, not alone.

Re: Pre Cu SWG Emulator, and will it survive?
If they haven't quit, they need to get the CU Emu out and going for 2 reasons:
1. It will get some players playing something and get them off the forums. I am one. I am chomping at the bit to play even the CU, I am tired of looking at forums. The CU Emu would get people off their backs and allow them to get Pre-CU done by limiting interuptions.
2. It would be an excellent stress test for the servers that plan on running the Emu. It would give the server admins a chance to see what level of populations the servers they have can hold. And allow upgrades if needed.
But if they are going to do anything, I hope they do it sooner rather than later. Releasing the CU Emu is in their best interest as I see it.

Re: Pre Cu SWG Emulator, and will it survive?
Well time for me to chime in here.
I know PK had good intentions for starting this thread, It was to assure people that the emu isnt stopping or the devs quitting. Its purpose was to keep people from a panic attack.........but
This thread seemed to do just the opposite.
All i ask is read very carefully before posting and causing more panic.
Do what i did for crying out loud...go find something else to do while this stuff is being worked on. I think some of you people are going to end up in a padded room before all this is over.

Padded room, eh?
.... and what's so bad about that? I find it to be very calming and comforting...

Re: Pre Cu SWG Emulator, and will it survive?
all we can do is /crossfingers!
Here is new news for those who didnt see
First news!
SWGEmu
"Welcome again to the new site everyone. I hope things are moving ok. Now to answer a few questions that have been coming up.
We will open up the old forums again sometime this weekend so you can retrieve any PM's, posts or anything else that may be useful, but then after that we will take it down permanently.
PDXLan is this weekend and we 'should' have a nice surprise ready for everyone, as long as things go according to plan. So I'd recommend being around from Friday -> Monday .
I guess thats really all for now. If you have any problems with the site, post it on the forums or join us in the irc channel @ irc://irc.swgemu.com/swgemu"

Re: Pre Cu SWG Emulator, and will it survive?
"SWGEmu Commemoration Update
Thursday, 16 November 2006
Ok... Thank you all for coming again.... We really appreciate the turnouts when we announce something big and love to see the community come together like this.
As you know, we've had our dark times over the past year, with theft of code, theft of money,
theft of our pride. But we dont need to go into that again. I've said my peace to the people involved and removed the problem people from our network. Leaked code is wrong, and using it while calling it your own just plain sucks.
ANYWAYS.
In Xeno's absense from the team we continued on and developed a full fledged combat system
that we thought we might possibly never achieve. As it stands right now, if you logged in,
and had a duel with someone, you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between Live
and the Emu. Its that good.
Then Xeno rejoined us. And we really began to work as a team again. Xeno is a natural leader
and is the face of this project. I know it comes off that I'm always in charge but I take
second to Xeno. So please dont short-change Xeno on anything. He's a great reverser and figures ALOT of things out for this project.
So tonight, We'd like to share with you the progress that we've made over the last little
while with a montage of video showing our history. Since making this video, we've also figured out player housing, force run, force meditate, all client effects, mounts on both swoops AND creatures, and as of 30 minutes ago, we fixed movement so it is no longer stop and go. It's smooth as a babies bottom.
I wanna make one thing clear. We are not flaming SOE with this video. We just chose to release it on a milestone day of SWG to show that we are around and not going away. When you tell someone that something can't be done, it only makes them want to do it more.
Videos/screenshots of all of that other stuff will come later, but for now please enjoy the Commemoration, of that which is SWGEmu.
(dramatic pause)
http://www.swgemu.com/nov15-2006.php "
It appears the emu is alive and well! Fully working combat and much much more! To me it looks like the circle is half complete!

ok doris, your just a bit too excited and need to calm down, heres a blanky, your teddy and some warm milk, i want you to lie down and we'll rush you to that padded room a.s.a.p.
(anyone think thats something that dr. cox would say?)
anyways, i am not worried about the welfare of the emu, with the release of their latest progress video, which is a compilation of everything they have achieved so far, aswell as listing a few other things. The emu and all the emu supporting communities are in safe hands.
