 Server Wipe Imminent!
EMU have suggested a wipe, and put it to community vote. http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54391The poll is currently at: yes 511 62.93% no 301 37.07% So i think it's quite likely it'll get wiped. This is a good thing IMO, and may even make me play again once it's been wiped. Reasons for wiping: What we propose changing * Revising the jedi unlock * Implementing credit duping fixes * Implementing item duping fixes * Better equalizing crafted items and looted item quality * Fixing bazaar exploitsThis is good with me. I think it's pretty ridiculous that after only 6 months there are loads of jedi (also a good example of why we should have a policy to limit/slow jedi on this galaxy IMO). Also the economy is ridiculously inflated with duped credits, which is meaning that holocrons are selling for 100m and pretty average looted weapons for tens of mill. This is also pertinent: We are almost done with the core structure of the OR, and are beginning to add content to it, but it will be many months before it is on par with what is currently on TC (Feature-wise). It confirms my suspicions that the OR is a lot more work that they thought it would be, but does at least put some sort of (vague) timescale on it.

I might put some time to it but it looks like its dangerously close to exams. Anyhow my comrades are calling me back to L2 so it looks like still no go for me. What are they using on TC then?

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
The old core 3 system.
This is the reason they haven't added any content to TC for months. They said all new content was on hold until the OR is complete.

I'm leaning towards the wipe myself, it's a test center, and test centers get wiped. If it will help the devs any, wipe away!

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
It needs a wipe badly so that everybody can get back to testing instead of idiots jacking around all day dueling each other. All the jedi punks on the TC are already a bunch of trash talking 13 year olds. A server wipe will settle all of this down and get things back on track.

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
Looks like they finally finished the back end to core4! Now they can start on core5!
...oh wait, it's called Object Restructuring.
I'm sorry. I say Toe-may-toe. You say toe-mah-toe.
They should just wipe it IMHO. They said they were going to when they announced OR, but oh well. It is a development/testing server after all, and not a playground.

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
Quote: Hello again EMU community.
The past few days have been crazy around here. We took this polling endeavor seriously and we were hoping for a better outcome. However, the team has been bombarded with concerns and questions by the community over the wipe poll and the possible outcomes. Therefore, due to voting disparities with new accounts, adverse affect on the community of the polling process, and unaddressed issues, we are calling off the poll and the possibility of a wipe. We will stick to the original statement and wipe for the OR when the time comes. As always, we are committed to providing you all with a solid community and game environment. We thought that holding this poll would give the community a voice and a chance at a little more participation.
What we now realize is it may cause more damage then good in the end. To our entire community, we are sorry if this poll in any way affected you adversely, and we will assure you that a similar situation will not happen in the future.
The SWGEmu Team.
Bah! Yeller-bellies! They've pandered to the QQ kids, so it looks like i won't bother again until OR.

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
Items were duped and/or bought with duped credits, and it's the jedi who are whining about losing their skills (surprise surprise) so I think it would only have worked with a full wipe and blue frogs to train people up again for free.

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
I could really care less if it gets wiped or not since I haven't been on in months because of my busy schedule BUT just randomly wiping it without any real purpose is stupid. The server should only be wiped if there are significant updates. If people want to start over from scratch they have the option to roll a new character.

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
To be honest, I only started a couple weeks ago and I voted to wipe but either way I didn't really care. This is a test server afterall and I am full expecting to have to start over when OR hits. Compared to what the economy of Intrepid was before I quit to what the TS is now, there isn't much differences in prices so I really didn't think anything about it. I just can't wait for the EMU to go full production and individual community servers start coming online. I'm liking this community more and more every day and liking less some of the poeple on the EMU forums

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
i thought it was a little silly to not wipe - yes, it will cause the more undesirable playerbase to throw a tantrum about losing their jedi skills - but it will also re-balance the server and keep people interested in the actual testing rather than screwing around all day. plus on the grind back up, people will have more opportunity to discover and report more bugs. it was a very simple dilemma in my mind.. i understand it's tough to make decisions when a community is divided like that, but i wish it had gone the other way.

 Re: Server Wipe Imminent!
They haven't been accepting bug reports really for almost a year.
