 Re: How rich were you?
Deathstrike was always fairly poor, never much more then 10 mil lol, where as Avalon my Armorsmith eventually had more money then the rest of my toons put together, around 300 mil, plus a house full of rare resources, armor etc which if sold would probably double that, but you can never have to much lol.

 Re: How rich were you?
I just remembered the story of the richest player on Kettemoor. It's an interesting one, and one that you crafters should take note of: He began playing back on the first day of release. He had done some research to the game prior to official release, so he knew what professions would be available, and had a rough idea of how they all worked. While everyone else wanted to be a combat class or a dancer or a weaponsmith, ect, we wanted to be a resource tycoon. That's just exactly what he wanted to do with the game. Within a handful of weeks, he had mastered artisan, and then consequentially cornered the mineral resource market. For the next two years of the game, if you wanted the best resources, you were buying his. Maybe not directly from him, but they had been gathered by him, and at some point were purchased from him. He apparently had credits in the billions, all legitimately earned. At some point, he had dropped the artisan profession and just turned his business over to his guild and his friends. He had become so insanely affluent in the game, he never needed to worry about money again. The last I saw him, he had picked up BH and just went nuts with the best gear money could buy. Lucky guy

 Re: How rich were you?
I can't remember exactly how much the most i ever had was, but i consistently had over 600million during the latter days of the pre-cu. I was purely a resource farmer and got quite famous on my server due to my low prices for premium resources. I topped the billion mark quite a few times. I probably had 500m to a billion worth of assets including my stockpile of super awesome rare resources - only for sale by contract to the best weaponsmith and armoursmith on the server. At one point i had 20 people on my payroll (people whose lots i rented at a price based upon the resources they were gathering for me). On top of those i had 15 X 10 lot swaps over my 2 accounts which gave me 150 permanent harvesters. In addition, 7 members from my guild let me use their lots which equalled 12 accounts - roughly 100 lots. All i had to do was give them a grid ref and they'd place the harvesters for me and send me what was pulled up, which i paid very well for. All in all, the most harvesters i had in the ground at any one time was about 400. A few of my employees ripped me off but for the most part, they were trustworthy and we both made decent profits. I found recruiting new players to be the best way as they wouldn't have needed all of their slots immediately and 400k a week was a nice tidy sum for a newbie Most of the cash i made was earmarked for future ownership of every rare item in the game to decorate my museum with. By the time the CU came out i was 90% complete. When i knew the game was truly doomed, i spent three days in coronet giving everything i had away.

I was a po mofo, because I was constantly wearing out my equipment (dying horribly).

I wouldn't say I was homeless, but I definitely never, ever, ever made over 1 million. I was always poor as dirt. Unfortunatly, there doesn't seem to be any crying smiles.......so, ;(.

 Re: How rich were you?
I remember when I sold my holocron for 350k I thought I was rich , bought comp armor and slowly watched it die.
Later on I came up with cross server lot trading , fields and fields of heavy harvesters of all kinds. Used my 30 lots for energy harvesters (they could not be static)
hundreds of millions, even as I gave away 1 mil here 1 mil there, often to strangers if they were friendly.
Wish I could be that business savvy in real life : )

 Re: How rich were you?
The richest I ever got was about 4 mil. I wasn't very good at holding onto my money. On the other hand, I had alot of nice things.
I remember how upsetting it was when they were giving newbs 75k to start off with when I only had 20k after playing for 6 months.

 Re: How rich were you?
Vendors and trade boards are the key to wealth in all game. Sadly it took me a year to figure that out. Funny I brought 4 anti-decay kits that left me broke the day before they took out decay from the game

 Re: How rich were you?
I made it a point to never hit 1 mill.
During the time I was active my spending was close to my earning.
New dancer in a Cantina? Shopping spree! Good natured pvp bout with a poorly equipted opponent...spending spree!
New player with no mount? Mount up!
In rl as well as in game I dislike the accumulation of wealth...bad for the inheritors of said wealth imho.

 Re: How rich were you?
Heh, thanks. ! I'm serious though...I met some great gamers and great pvpers in early SWG. Economy is one of the toughest aspects of mmorpg game management, I was just doing my part for the greater good! Accumulation of wealth is the sign of a poorly managed economy. Omg...think NPR will cover this statement?
