If you've never played SWG pre-Cu you'll definitely want to read up on it to get an idea of how things work and basically where to start. You've already taken a good step by getting into a server community. I'm sure you'll find a good deal of valuable information in these forums if you just prowl around a bit.

First off, I'd suggest registering with the SWGEmu forums. If you're going to play the pre-Cu emulator, this is the best place to get what basic information you'll need. You'll also find a good selection of guides to help with acquainting yourself with SWG pre-Cu. You can also find information on getting involved in the Emu Test Center on this website:
