Heya So I googled this website, seeing as I overheard from a RL friend that a working Pre CU emulator had been developing
HI and welcome!

Anyho, how many actual active users are currently using this forum?
One of our web geniuses would be best to give you that kind of information, but from what I've observed we have a healthy and steady playerbase, even without the emulator begin finished. Personally, I think GR will be one of the larger servers out there after launch, but that's not why you should choose GR. What makes GR stand apart is the community here. You'll find this community to be open, friendly, and free of flaming. It's a great place! Take the time to look through some threads and you'll see what I mean. We also have an opportunity as members here to interact with the leadership and developers in this community and create the SWG we've always wanted. It really is a highly democratic and cohesive community... very rare.

How long has the developing of the server been going on and when is it planned on being launched? Will it be able to eventually hold more than 3,000 players at once?
It's important to note that the emulator is not finished as of yet. What everyone is playing on currently is the Test Center that the SWGEmu development team is letting us play on in order to help them test things out. Galaxies Reborn is a server community. We will all be playing together on this server when the emulator is finished and goes live. To answer your question though, the SWGEmu community has been working on this... oh geeze... a LONG TIME!!!! It's a very exciting time because (although no one has officially said so) the project is getting very close to completion!!!!!
As for our server capabilitites, again, there is someone better suited to answer that. I don't foresee traffic being a problem. From the GR homepage:
Our connection to the world
The main datacenter is located in the Chicago Board of Trading Building. It is one of the world’s largest financial institutions, and is fully redundant in its power supply, communications, and other amenities that include elaborate security and surveillance systems.
The Chicago board of trade has a built-in infrastructure of fiber optic raisers throughout its building which ensures easy delivery of any of many ISPs that are present in the building.
Our connection:
1 Gbit Port
Unmetered Transfer
We can host 3,000 players at once with no lag.JorrdKarrd wrote:
I was thinking of trying this server out, but it makes sense that I want a bit more info before I do that though, so any info added to this topic will be appreciated.
Very prudent! I did the exact same thing
