Post Houseplants
Just a random question. Anyway I seem to remember there being a wide variety of houseplants available in pre-cu. When I started decorating again in NGE only a few plants and trees were available. Am I just imagining things or were there originally more plants that crafters could make, such as the ones you see in various buildings/complexes/npc halls.

the plants haven't changed at all unfortunately. There were always the three you could make for the player buildings. I never knew why though, because there were the pink variants of the orange flowers and what looked to be a potted evergreen topiary in the cities throughout the game.

Don't forget about the plant that gives the buff fruit that you can get at the Village as a quest reward and also the Flowers of Alderaan which were part of that quest series from the start of the game.

Ohhh ya. i was thinking of the crafted plants. Go figure lol.

while we're on the subject though, we've talked about a full color palette for house items. It would be cool if that applied to those stupid orange flowers or we had new plants.

Well I like gardening in real life, so I suppose it would make sense that I'd be a dork about plants in game. I wonder if it would be at all possible to grab some of the other plant designs and make them a craftable "appearance" option for the plants.

Anyway attainable plants in game as I recall:

-Small potted plant style 1

-Potted tree style 1
Image

-don't know the name but the small plant that looks like a cypress tree but with broad leaves. You can see it used in the gnarly aquarium in this pic
Image

-Alderaan flora

-vet reward houseplant
Image

-Wroshyr tree
Image
*there's also a christmas version of this one w/ the lights

-Mini Wroshyr tree
Image

-this looks to be a new nge quest reward

Anyway look around in any guild hall, there's a ton of other more intricate plants that I would love to be able to have craftable.

that last one was from the jedi village. got it from one the quests there. but i htink i heard they added it back in now.

and as a long time architect i always wanted more items to craft for decorations let alone to color furniture.

also would be nice that if they can't make them craftable to do a vendor where you could buy them for a cost. and if htey can make them craftable it would be interesting to add the schematic to learn them to that vendor.

right before I left nge they had updated crafting to allow for furniture colorization via a limited color palette

for some things, but others came out fine, it just depended on the original color palette as to which new color palette could be used. Pastel furnitures only had greenish grey options, but some of the bright stuff like divans etc could be colored with sharp vivid colors. Sorry I never spent very long crafting so I don't know the specific names for each color palette.

Found some examples of what I was talking about in my original post.

Here's pics of additional potted plant/tree styles as seen in the emu. They're given a number as if they're part of the other selection, but I don't remember these being craftable, or if they were it was only at the beginning.

And another plant that appears as deco only, but could be incorporated.

Anyway I'm pretty sure furniture crafters would love getting some additional varieties to sell.

YES!!! I dont understand why we didnt have access to the pink version of the orange flowered potted plant. It would be awesome if you could pick the colors

Yea, I always figured that anything that was used to decorate the static buildings and such should have been available as a craftable item. I think the SOE guys just got sidetracked/didn't give a d@mn and never completely finished these things.
