Re: Authentic original CURB documentation from SOE
I loved the ideas posted by the original CURB document. I was pretty stoked when I first read it and thought SOE was actually going to improve SWG at the time. I was a bit shocked and dismayed that what they pawned off on us in the CU was a dumb downed, harshly edited, and overly rushed version of that idea.
Many of the pre-CU lovers would have still left the game, but I don't think they would have had such a mass exodus at that point like they did. There's a lot of ideas that I'd like to see implemented in our version of the Emu, but I don't think the majority of the community base would go for the changes.

Re: Authentic original CURB documentation from SOE
Well I know I wouldn't mind not having to haul around crates of vasarian brandy and muon gold in my poor overpacked spec ops pack (loved how it looked somewhat like a jetpack). I'm a new member here, just joined. My stance on buffs...yes having them was awesome, but it was a hell of a headache at times getting them all lined up, making sure you had enough on you for your little hunting trip or battle or whatever. I think it'd be way more realistic to pop into a cantina or even a hospital to get a strong drink and a good meal or maybe (emphasize maybe) get some vitapacks...at least that way it wouldn't crowd up your inventory, with maybe a cap on the amount you could carry. Yeah doctors might feel a pinch, and for chefs...well maybe they could work in the back and sell their meals and drinks to the cantina and get more money for higher quality products...it's not a perfect system, but hey it'd add a hint of realism to the game.
As for the armor issue...on my server Chilastra, every guy and his mom had a full set of composite armor just because it protected just about everything. I personally liked the revamp on the armors having different types within classifications, added variety within recon, assault, or battle armor. I still saw everyone and their mom in composite armor, but I also started seeing people in tantal and padded as well and actually using it...I even saw a couple in bone armor, and how often do you see vets wearing bone armor?
Well those are just my two cents, pleasure to be with you fine people.

Bioware is a very successful game design and programming company, HOWEVER… They are rushing the development of Star Wars Old Republic way to fast. They just announced a new video on the website that demonstrates a new planet in game. The focus of the video was all about Jedi, nothing else. I will hope for the best that Old Republic will pick up the torch and produce a solid in depth game, however I’m getting the same old same old vibe as any other MMO on the market today. /point … /shoot … /loot … /new quest … /new level Wash rinse… repeat Hope I’m wrong… just calling it as I see it.

Re: Authentic original CURB documentation from SOE
I think the idea of doing away with buffs is rediculous. There would be no point in going doc other wise when all you would need is xx4x med in order to use D-stimpacks. Doc would no longer be a money making proffession and there for less money is put into the economy of the server by rich docs. Armor is the issue though if you ask me. 90% resists is insane, anyone can be on the level of a demi-god with only 10% damage getting through, not including the def that your temp already provides. Not everyone can be invinsible with buffs and little or no resists, but buffs with 90% resists..my baby cousin could solo an ns elder with all of these things. The only reasonable solution is to put a cap on the max percent of resists you can have on armor. Not sure the level of what this cap should be, but a lower more balanced resist woud solve the problem of seemingly invensable players running around as gods. With a set cap, you will still be buying top of the line armor but the resits may be 45% or so, this way its no money out of armorsmith's pockets nor out of doctors. No buffs would mean duels that last less than a minute and constant breaks to regenerate your HAM in pve. Lower resists makes it a bit more fast paced (no more hour long duels) and more balance in pve since difficult creatures and npcs will still retain all of their high resits, you wont be able to barrel through them anymore, and may even need the help of a group to take down more difficult things (ns, rancors, bs, ect). but thats just one mans thoughts on the matter

To be fair though, TOR which in essence is really KOTOR 3 is based all around Jedi anyway. The Sith War timeline, Revan, The Exile, etc. etc. For the promo videos NOT to focus on Jedi would be out of place.
