SWG EMU Server Set-Up and Access Guide *Newbies come here*
Tutorial VideoLaunchpad enhanced
this little sucker makes downloading a breeze. All you need is SWG and hard drive space. Easy enough.
This Test Center is NOT run by the guys here, but another once less favored emulator. It is quite poulated in certain areas but the community can be quite rude at times.
AGAIN THIS IS NOT SWG REBORN'S SERVER. THIS IS SWG EMU'S. GR's IS DOWN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
Just thought I'd help decrease the posts about help.
1) install Star wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided to your computer. If you do not own the game, look further down to the FAQ question 8 for places to purchase. The trial will not work.
2) Install launchpad enhanced from the above link.
3) Create an Account at SWG EMU
. your forum name and password are your login.
4) Login, create a character (Basilisk is the server for normal play) and play SWG! UPDATE 8/29/08
Hey... I know there was a thread asking about whether or not you had to use your SWGEmu login to get into the test center or if you can use something else. I searched and searched and can't find it, so I thought I'd mention here that you now DO have to use your SWGEmu forum login.
[Enabled] Forums Integration
(YOU MUST NOW USE YOUR FORUMS LOGIN TO LOGIN TO THE TC.
IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE, THEN YOU BETTER MAKE ONE.)"
From What I understand, the test server is limiting the amount of players that may access the server at a given time. So if you can't login, wait an hour. someone will log off.UPDATE 06/06/11
the old link is dead go here now:
thanks dragon!UPDATE 07/02/13
added youtube video from some guy for you visual learnersFAQ:
Q1: Where do I buy star wars galaxies?
A1: Generally where ever PC games are sold. You can find it really cheap on Amazon.com used and new.
Q2:Why is there an Emulator?
A2: Our Original Grievance was that SOE, the makers of SWG (the abbreviation star wars galaxies, I'll use from now on) made an update that changed SWG into a Game we couldn't stand. Nothing was the same; crafters were useless, combat was unbalanced. The whole deal pissed us off so, here we are now.
The game was discontinued in December 2012 so now it's the only way to play it again. it was no mystery, the new game really wasn't anything special.
Q3: Is Galaxies Reborn’s server up?
A2: We're Usually hosting a community test server for SWG:ANH.
It's not running as of late....
Q4: Is the code finished?
A4: No. None of the teams are finished.
Q5: What are the teams?
A5: Check down this post.
Q6: Who’s code Are you using?
A6: We'll be using the first stable
code that's finished.
Q7: When Will it be ready?
A7: I (Mr. Red X) have no clue. They won’t Say. They always say "when it's finished. that really doesn't answer much tho...
information is slow and there isn't much yet we can tell anyone. it seems a long ways away, which blows.
Q8: How do I use this launchpad for the test center?
A8: you must install an actual copy of the game onto your computer.
You can buy the discs on Ebay
after you install them you can install the launchpad.
still confused? Go here Or Here!
, and Maybe even here!

Ok, looks like some people are haveing some problems with accessing the SWGEmu.
Step 1. Download the Launchpad Enhanced from the following site........ http://lpe.ocdsoft.com/installer/LPESetup.exe
Step 2. Run downloaded file and install Launchpad Enhanced. (Default Directory is C:\Program Files\Launchpad Enhanced)
Step 3. After Installation finishes a set up screen will appear with several Failed
options. It will most likey look like this.........
SWG Installed.......... Failed
Install Type...... Failed
Location to install EMU.......... Failed
(Must be an empty folder!!!)
On the SWG Installed click the "Fix" button and point it to your SWG directory. (Default Directory is C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies)
On the Install Type there are 2 options 1. Play both the NGE and SWGEmu 2. Screw the NGE, Just play the EMU. Select which option you are planning on doing. I know people still on the NGE that use this and it works fine so it shouldn't mess you up.
On the Location to install EMU you must first create a "New Folder" and call it whatever you want. For simplisity let's just call it SWGEmu. Then click the "Change" button and point it to the directory you created the SWGEmu folder in. (For example C:\Program Files\SWGEmu)
options should now be Passed
. Continue and the Enhanced Launchpad should start up and begin to update all your files to be used with the SWGEmu.
Step 4. After the Launchpad Enhanced completes it's update, click the drop down bar at the top and select "Core 3 Test Center", then click the "Play" button.
Step 5. When the Log In screen appears, just make up a username and password and away you go.
**Note: Launchpad Enhanced ONLY works with the SWGEmu and no other Emulators out there!!!!**
**SWG Pre-CU has a launchpad as well but untill they have a Test Center that is up and open to the public, there is really no point in posting it on here yet. Once they do have a public Test Center up, I can post instructions for that as well if you found this usefull**
