*The game is not complete but there is an open functional test center based on the SWGEMU version of the emulator.

*This is not the same emulator as the one that SWGANH has. SWGANH is currently closed source although they are accepting applications for beta testers. If you are interested in testing SWGANH send me a PM (I'm a lead QA for SWGANH and will do what I can.. no promises)

*There are many functions that do work on the SWGEMU test center, including combat.
If you would like to check out the SWGEMU version of the emulator here are the instructions for getting your client set up.

Okay so here are the instructions to set up SWGEMU and get on the Test Center to try it out.

1. Go to SWGEMU.com and setup a forums account. Write down your user/pass because you are going to use this to get into game too.
2. Download the installer at http://www.swgemu.com/forums/showthread ... =installer
3. Run the installer and patch all necessary files. If it doesn't work the first time run the installer again until it does work. Point the installation at your Star Wars Galaxies game folder... don't worry if you have
ANH installed here you can run both emulators on the same SWG install. Default installation folder should be C:\ program files \ Star Wars Galaxies
4. Click Start Explore on your taskbar go to your Star Wars Galaxies folder and right click on the swgemu_login file and open with notepad.
5. Edit the file as follows: [ClientGame]
loginServerPort0=44454
loginServerAddress0=chicago2.swgemu.com <--subject to change. if it does change I will post the new ip here.
Save the file making sure it doesn't save as a .txt file extension if it does rename the file to swgemu_login.cfg and make sure it is not swgemu_login.cfg.txt or something. Windows is stupid that way.
6. Go to your desktop and launch the Enhanced Launchpad shortcut.
7. Update your game files
8. Click Play
9. Create a character and log in. If you are unable to log in try a few times.. this is glitchy.
10. Once your on go you load up in Anchorhead. Go to the Shuttleport where everyone hangs out. There is a Jawa there. Talk to the Jawa and he'll give you gear and train you in whatever professions you want to be.
11. Email me back with your character names.
12. Set up your combat macro's etc. Go hunting. Have fun.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: The use of the Sony SWG 14-day Trial client is illegal, and considered piracy. Anyone found to be using this client to attempt to log into our Test Center will be banned from all SWGEmu Properties, including Test Center, Forums, and IRC.

There are multiple legal ways to acquire a legitimate client, should you need one. Amazon.com, Ebay, etc. are examples of online stores our community members have been successfully finding very inexpensive copies of SWG.

You will only need "An Empire Divided" (the original boxed games from '03) to play on Test Center. However, any legitimate copy of SWG, including "Complete Online Adventures" (and all the NGE patches it comes with) and the "Direct Digital Download" from Sony, will work perfectly with the emulator.

Remember, you must own a legitimate copy of SWG to utilize the emulator.

BTW type @buff for buffs and to change planets you use the shuttleport terminal and click on galactic map. I'm having an awesome time on there and highly recommend everyone come on.

Cool advice, however why do i need the enhanced Launchpad Startup?

I may sound a little dumb, but i also do not understand what publish 14 is. I have the original copy of SWG unpatched, so how *much* patching will i need to do to get my hands on the test center?

The Enhanced Lanchpad Startup will patch your installation and configure it to work with the TC.

Red
Publish 14 is the 14th patch SOE put out for SWG. It is the patch of the game that the original team (SwgEmu) was able to get their hands on and that the other teams have decided to use as well.

Alright having issues.

I can login with my name, password but then when i create a character and select the server it loads indefinatly, so i tried changing 44453 to 44454 but now it wont log in, so i changed it back to 44453 and it could log in, but still not able to login to the core 3 to make a character.

keep trying - that happens occaisionally - the server may be down from time to time for upgrades and whatnot.

here delete this program, it's hard to use, instead, use launchpad enhanced which is a sticky in this forum. I wrote the post to get to it in this forum. this will get you on in a day (takes forever to load)

So i updated all the patches, when into the file and changed the port and stuff...and i logon, then I have to create a character and that's where the game just stays at a <Loading> screen

you might not have the right Ip adress in the thing. I know that wasn't descriptive at all but that's my understanding of a problem like that.

I was extremely confused by it as well. check out my sticky, it's easier to use.

I'm using the enhanced launchpad and have it updated, but still, it gets stuck at connecting to galaxy. I've searched for the swgemu_login file and haven't found any, where might I find this file or an alternate solution?

If your running XP click on START then click on Search then click on All Files and Folders
and enter swgemu_login and let it search your whole drive.

I think you need to install this stuff first and add in the IP, ans stuff. I'll add this to my sticky

i have done all this created my character and tried to log in and i get to fully loaded but it hangs on generating terrain or loading objects and doesnt let me in...any reason y?
