ok the emu works it loads up and stuff but when i go to create a char it just says connecting to server forever what am i doing wrong?

Nothing at all! You're fine. The server is just down. Keep trying, and when it is up it will allow you to create a character.

So I followed the steps up until the part where you edit the swgemu_login.cfg file. For some reason my StarWarsGalaxies file doesn't have have it in there. Is this a common problem with a simple solution that I am missing?

It is in the SWGEmu folder. It appears once you have fully installed and updated.

Ok, I see. The EMU installed directly into the C: drive rather than program files. That is why I couldn't find it. The lines in the file turned out to be changed already for some reason. So everything is good now. Thanks.

Yes, the guide is somewhat outdated now, and the new launchpad automatically adds server details to the .cfg file.

Hey... I know there was a thread asking about whether or not you had to use your SWGEmu login to get into the test center or if you can use something else. I searched and searched and can't find it, so I thought I'd mention here that you now DO have to use your SWGEmu forum login.

Please read the complete thread as there are a number of updates including one that describes how you have to run the SWGEMU updater/loader once before the file appears in your directory. Additionally you may not have to edit the file any longer as it should update automatically.
