 the greatest exploit ever
Wondering what it was eh? I'll tell you after the story. Well midway in LOL. It was a week after the NGE hit I was a level 90 elder jedi helping two people kill the death watch overlord when one of them kept dieing he sent us a mail with a invincibalty macro and an infinate action macro. I tried it was unbelievable. As most of you know the GCW stims(from GCW PvP bases) He found the codes some how(exploting probably) no clue how though cause they were like chapter 2 or 3. but the macro made us not die so I soloed like everything. The medic we had spammed it in eisley and made us loose it,he was banned. I wasn't nor was the BH who kept dieing but we had fun with it. So I got all of the high level badges that I didn't get pre NGE so enjoy this little story. Sorry no video or screens were taken

Uhm.. did anyone understand that?
So basically.. you used a script flaw macro in order to gain an unfair advantage in PVM combat. Which in turn caused your friend to be banned?
Sounds like the most boring exploit ever.

Because unlike SOE, ill run a database check on anyone with a macro something like it and ban them too. Exploiters will not get away with anything. Security measures WILL be taken, and things will be locked so tight no one will be able to exploit without getting banned. Just remember, you have been warned.

Best exploit? Stackable containers. SOE fixed the bug before launch for everything except those lootable containers that smugglers could unlock.

ROFL! Now there's a memory brought back. I remember slicing open some of those containers and finding another contain inside. I think I got a string of 4 containers in a row once while slicing. But ya, other than that, I don't really like talking about exploits. Though I've heard of quite a few that were pretty bad in the NGE, some of which I doubt SOE ever fixed.

My favorite "exploit" was getting inside of moisture vaporators or even buildings, and waiting for some SF or Bounty "Prey" to come by, then come out of the object/building Matrix-Twin-Vampire-Ghost style and gank the hell out of them.

Closest one I had was hiding inside the fountain in Theed's spaceport and go "Mwahahahaha I am the magical talking Fountain! Donate to me to get a force slot unlock! Mwahahahahahaha!" sadly one person actually tipped me...

But macros are clientside, arent they?

Could you be more specific please?
Myself and everyone i know used to use macros, and that was as intended as far as i know. Macros to harvest, macros to loot (if agreed by everyone in a group), macros to keep CoB on, macros to start ForceOfWill.... The list goes on....
As far as i knew, exploits are things that are outside what is intended. Such as that exploit where jedi would force meditate, log out, log back in and then they would be able to run around with the force meditate buff on.
Surely you won't be banning people who use macros?

Macros are part of the game and as you said exploits are things OUTSIDE the game. If macros were not anticipated to be used the way they are then they would have been removed or fixed in some way. I think its really unlikely that you would be banned for using a certain macro.

 Re: the greatest exploit ever
Early in my Bounty Hunter career, I decided I would only hunt Imperial jedi. To help me with that, I took up the habit of adding the name of any Imp jedi I saw to my friends list. This did come in handy for hunting, but it also helped me to improvise an exploit. In PVP, when there were a lot of Imp jedi running about cloaked, we'd still be able to spot them by their shadows if they ran past, but we couldn't target them, and they would mask their shadows by standing in dark corners, etc. I came up with the idea of checking my friends list for names, and then using /targetwhomever, trying names until I would hit on one who was nearby, whom I could then fire at. It didn't take long before some jedi whined about it enough that it was killed by the devs.
