 Found Love in SWG
I guess one of my biggest memories is when I fell in love with one of my guild mates. We played for 2+ years together and he eventually moved to my state and we dated for 3 years after. And altho it wasnt a happily ever after story it is still one of the numerous enjoyments i recieved from SWG.
Anyone else got any love stories?

Thats a cool story. I found 'love' in a manner of speaking... I met two of my very dearest friends playing SWG. I don't know what I'd do without either one of them now. You can certainly forge some very special friendships thats for sure.

I have a pic... (My toon being on the left)... Eh it's a long story and I'd sum up our relationship now as 'it's complicated.'

 Re: Found Love in SWG
Yes besides the love that I found with one person, who at the time i thought was my soul mate. I also had made some very close friendships, who i still keep in contact with. In fact I sent them all an email last night letting them know about the updates going on with EMU and they will be joining the forums soon, in fact one already did today. After NGE and we all quit we all went and played WOW together for awhile but I couldnt keep interest in that game after a year or so. Some still play it but can not wait the return of our lost love swg pre-cu.

My story is complicated too, which why i didnt go into too much detail. Bottom line is that I had a great love inside of a great love(swg) MAde my experience all the more better

 Re: Found Love in SWG
I just find teh whole meeting someone in a video game kinda weird. it's not a bad way to find friends with a similar intrest but a life partner? love in RP is weird too. that's just me, I mean if you find happiness in a game i'm happy for you. I just find it strange.

 Re: Found Love in SWG
ITs not weird or strange at all. The social aspect of SWG was the greatest thing about the game. Maybe you were just too young to realize it at the time. But you could express and socialize like no other game and you really got to know people and I made real friends i n that game. I also played wow and everquestII, LOTRO and im sry even tho i socialized and interacted with others I never became real friends anyone like I did in SWG.

There's something about the social dynamic in SWG that lets you get to know people better. Maybe its having to rely on each other to get things done, who knows.

 Re: Found Love in SWG
most of the closest friends i currently have in WOW were my SWG friends... the two closest friends i had in SWG were both women and it was great fun to flirt with them inside the game. one of them and i still play wow and if one isnt on at the time, the other rarely stays on for long. we only play together.. we are very close now and still flirt alot. we know each other really well and talk about our real lives to each other moreso than with our other guildies. i wouldnt call it love... im with X, it feels a little weird to meet a life partner in a video game.. BUT ill admit, stranger things have happened.. and although i wont go so far as to call it love.. she and i definitely have something. so im with you too Leinia

 Re: Found Love in SWG
I made a few close friends in SWG. We were basically the nutballs of the server. We'd go out and do stupid things because they were stupid and gave us a laugh. Not a love story, but made some pretty good friends. I think they're both members here, Goldenstar (colloquially Goldylocks, Goldenrod, or just Goldy) and Willium (or WIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM when he would get his arse lost in Theed).

 Re: Found Love in SWG
I think that's a great story, Leinia.
Never any SWG love interests for me (my RL mrs. would never have allowed it, for a start!), but my closest online friend is someone who i met in SWG and have kept in contact with since its demise.
I do remember though, that two of my guildmates got married in-game and role-played their love. It was rather strange to me, as their toons were male and female, but the players were both straight males. Can't imagine doing that myself, but each to their own. I plan to have a female avatar for one of my characters, but she will certainly be a "woman's woman" if you get my meaning.

 Re: Found Love in SWG
Some pals of mine sure did and they ended up getting some E-lovin' from a man playing a short skinny human female. I'll never forget the guy telling me he was a guy, but keeping it from my friend so someday we could all have a big laugh at how ...bah I'm gonna stop before I say something mean.

 Re: Found Love in SWG
I'm a female who always plays female toons and I've told people I was a guy before; granted that was always to thwart other's attempts at "e-lovin". But my point is you just never know. I personally don't care, but you never know.

 Re: Found Love in SWG
For the Female actual players out there awesome props for you who stoop to our level to play games. Now if they could play male characters and get an actual female and female toon to start the e-lovin' (I love that word I laugh everytime I type or hear it) that would be history when the male toon replies I am a womaH(spelled it with an h for the mrs. garrison effect) DUH DUH DUNNNN!
when that day comes I will perhaps be less harsh on buddies who have made the normal mistake lol
