 magic: the gathering
someone plays it? what kind of deck do you have?
i mainly use two white-green (swarm and "big creatures", both more for group matchs than single ones) and a green-black deck (the rock like)

 Re: magic: the gathering
I used to play it... jeez long time since the last time! I had a really **** Black/green deck for 3 players or more free for all... So damn **** I couldn't use it twice with the same players since they would wipe me out the table as quickly as possible! Haha!
I stopped playing because I didn't have the money to continue.

 Re: magic: the gathering
I have a few friends who go to every ptq they can which is alot. To much money for me to justify spending though I like to spend it in other areas.

 Re: magic: the gathering
I had two "killer" decks, which i would class as tournament class:
-A red damage dealer. Full of lightning bolts, disintegrate, fireball, ball lightning, mana flare etc. All about making huge amounts of mana available very quickly, and having expandable spells which can use all of the available mana, with no chance of the opponent blocking it. Without the opponent having a CoP red, and assuming i was not mulliganed, this deck was practically ipmpossible to beat.
-A Blue sneaky deck. Not as "balls out" as the red deck, but over a longer game this deck really did kick in. Based upon Zephyr falcons with unstable mutations (to guard while you get enough land out to work your later spells, and to do some early damage), lots of counterspells to stop anything nasty your opponent may have, Then the real killer; Lifetap with magical hack. This basically meant that i could change the lifetap (+1 life every time opponent uses a forest) so that it said "Swamp", "Mountain" or whatever. So any time my opponent used any land i'd be gaining life. What with my counterspells, the opponent would often be using lots of mana (giving me life) in the hope of getting a big card out to help, just to have it counterspelled at little cost to me. Then there'd be a couple of Mahamoti Djinns in there to finish the opponent off. With this deck i usually ended up with more lives than i started out with.
Other than that i used countless other decks. Perhaps one of the best dual colour ones was my red/green channel deck:
-Kurd Apes. Cheap 2/3 beasts dependant on using red and green. These can usually do a bit of damage before the opponent has any defenders out. Then we have Channel and Disintegrate. The idea is you'd take a couple of lives off the opponent with the kurd ape, then on the second turn you'd pop a channel, cashing in 19 of your lives for 19 red mana. Then you'd use that disintegrate to kill your opponent. It was possible to beat the opponent in the second turn of the game if you got the cards right.

 Re: magic: the gathering
I had a green/red land destruction deck. With enough cheap green and red creatures to hold the line till I could get a beafy guy out to smash anything that my opponent could summon. But well in the end, the deck just couldnt compete with all those lands and artifacts that could pump out tons of mana.
Also had a nasty black deck, but never cared for the black color set though.
My brother had alot of decks. He had bout 14 decks including white weenies, a full black vampire deck, a blue stasis lock deck. Etc. He blew alot more money on the game than I did.
