 Star Trek Online
Anyone else plan on playing this? Having a blast in beta, but this certainly isn't for everyone.

 Re: Star Trek Online
I'm thinking about it, the space battles look epic - me being a pilot of course I'm going to love the space battles. I'm going to play beta and if I like it, I'm going to preorder it from ign so I can get the coolest ship from star trek, the uss soveriegn as a bonus.

 Re: Star Trek Online
I really want to try it out. I was always more of a Star Wars fan than Star Trek, but the game does look kind of fun. Not going to spend $50 to try it out, though. :-/ Do they have those 14-day trials or guest invites or something?

 Re: Star Trek Online
If you have been doing any research on the game and happened upon reviews that the game is very cut and dry, they are right on the mark. Even with a supposed 80 hours of content, the game is way too easy and space is way more fun than ground (as opposed to SWG where both were fun). I am an XO in a fleet in the game and I am thinking of leaving (I have maxed two characters in 6 weeks now). The devs are pullin a SOE here and putting in content but not all the content that the players want or need.

 Re: Star Trek Online
At first I didn't think so, until yesterday when I read that they will supposedly be following CO's example with their first release of a major patch. They will offer most of it through the C-Store (a monthly sub game that has microtransactions...). One should never have to pay for content that should already be in the game, especially if they are already paying a monthly sub.

 Re: Star Trek Online
That is kind of BS, yeah. I stopped playing CO after two months, because once I was out of Tortuga, all the content became just as boring and repetitive as almost every other MMORPG.
