 Neverwinter MMO
A pretty new anouncement. Wondering if anyone had any preliminary thoughts. Personally I'm not convinced from what I've heard so far but I'll wait and see.

 Re: Neverwinter MMO
NWN2 was one of my favourite games. However, what i liked about it was the tactical squad action, and obviously that won't be present in a MMO.
However, NWN and NWN2 are both true to the AD&D ruleset, and if they continue that for the MMO then the world will have its first AD&D MMO, which can only be good (DDO did not use the AD&D ruleset, strangely enough!).

Yeah I agree, I liked NWN alot and was very disapointed when I tested DDO from start till it got launched.

 Re: Neverwinter MMO
I agree about DDO, very disapointing. Probably why I'm not sold on Neverwinter. Good point about the ruleset though. I have heard they plan to include user generated content. Not sure how you'd implement that in an MMO.

 Re: Neverwinter MMO
2 ways to implement that: 1.- Allow players upload scripts to the server (too risky and conflictive) 2.- Some sort of game programming language developed ad hoc that internally is translated to a scritp the server can run (most likely). If they do this the game will come with some kind of editor (either internal or external)

 Re: Neverwinter MMO
For various reasons, i think it would only work in an elective manner; for instance, a player can invite you to their custom event/area, and it is up to you if you enter it. There would be warnings that any experiences in user-made areas are not the responsibility of the game devs.

A proper long 100+ hour campaign, a story that draws you in, excellent tactical combat (you can make it as easy or hard as you want) and of course AD&D ruleset, which means you can totally micro-manage your character/items for some unique builds. Also, you get to manage, repeair and defend your own castle. Definitely worth digging out and installing when you have the time to get properly lost in a game for the forseeable future!

Fully in agreement. My friend just told me that it would be a NWN game with 'native multiplayer' so I was guessing that it was more like NWN than NWN2. I have my doubts about an MMO since I'm hitting Tera hard next year but heck, its NWN; must play.

 Re: Neverwinter MMO
Wow I just realized I never played NVN2. Only the first one. I wanted to but somehow something else always got my attention.

 Re: Neverwinter MMO
Once again if you're looking for a solid single player campaign and willing to forgo the multiplayer, NWN2 is extremely good in that retrospect. Go play it while you're 1) Waiting for the full version of SWGEMU/ANH. 2) Waiting for NWN 2011.
