I plan on joining the air force here soon, kind of got mixed feelings on it, help me build more character and pay for college, but i never just wanted to hand over my body to the gov. Nothing against veterans or people in the military. I'm joining though.

Our air force has a strict recruitment criteria; you sure you are okay with yours? Apparently 90% of applicants fail our preliminary selection phase.

If you want to be a pilot, you'll need to be absolutely dedicated and single-minded.
If you want to be support crew then why not? You'll learn some useful skills.

seriously. doesn't sound like something you want to do. To go the pilot route through enlistment, you get to suffer through about 2-3 years of intensive training before they even select you for Warrent Officer and Pilot schools. Which take another 2-3 years. Each.

But yeah, air force is the branch to join if you want to enlist in the US Military but don't know what you really want to do. Best pay, living conditions and chance to have a marketable trade skill out of the military.

Yep but also the hardest obviously. I've always had aspirations for the Australian Navy but I'm not that fit so probably not. Also I've heard that the Air Force over here is more inclined to take in enlistments under the age of 27 but with the Navy and Army, they will take people up to the age of 40+. At least thats how it is over here.
