Greetings:We are very pleased that you have found our community, and we hope to get to know you quite well, as we all anticipate the eventual release of our live server. As an active community member you will have the opportunity to receive in-game rewards (nothing game-breaking) such as house decorations and various items when the Galaxies Reborn server goes live. If you would like to become involved as either a forum moderator or as a developer please post your proposal in one of the proper sub forums for doing so. If you are a member of the press please contact BrokenSoldier our server admin and Galaxies Reborn founder.
Many new community members ask some very common questions which we will try to address here. Firstly, there is no live server yet although many of the Galaxies Reborn regulars are either beta testers and or developers involved in the emu's development. There are actually a few different groups working on independent emulators. Galaxies Reborn will go with whichever version is deemed best. Currently we favor SWG:ANH. As a Galaxies Reborn community member there are often opportunities for you to apply and become involved in some of the development projects as a beta tester, developer, moderator, community relations, CSR, and so on.
Galaxies Reborn is a server or "galaxy" where the emu game will be hosted. Having said this we do have our own development teams working on Galaxies Reborn specific game adaptions and whatnot. Our community has grown to over two thousand registered members. Each member will receive account activations when we go live. There will be no charge to play although you will require your original game disks. Trial editions will be incompatible.
The game will function nearly identically to the original Pre Cu game that we all loved. When you log in to our servers you will find only small game play differences from Publish 14. Any radical changes must be proposed and voted on by the community as a whole. In general our community tends to prefer to adhere to the original vision of the pre cu version of the game. We will have fixed a lot of the bugs and problems that SOE did not correct during their Pre Cu run. You will be able to create a character and play the original pre cu game in all it's glory with each of the professions and the original template based system. You will be able to log in each day and build up your character just as you did on the official servers.
The server and it's founding community will be very stable and reliable. We are mature and respectful of each other and our player base and we promise to be the last server standing.
Please remember to post an introduction thread so that we can get to know you.
If you could please reference how you discovered our site as this helps us grow our community.
Additionally, don't forget to tell your SWG friends about us and remember to vote!
Q&A:Is the serve up and running? There is no fully operational server anywhere yet. The developers are still finishing it. It'll be at least a few more months. Pull up a chair and wait with us.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that we are waiting for a code/emulator team to complete the code so our community can host its own server?Yes, we are waiting for the dev teams to complete the EMU first. Then Galaxies Reborn will host it's own server.
How many different teams are creating emulators?ANH
EMU
Persistent Worlds

What version or CD do i need to play swgEMU?As long as you have a Legal Version of SWG installed it will work. So if you either bought the game online or have a CD. As long as you have a working SWG you will have a working EMU. You need Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.
I have the store bought disk for game, and im looking for the EMU to download can someone show me where it is and some general instructions on how to get game running? Is our forum supporting ANH?Officially yes, but one of the main men here is also involved with Pre-CU. It depends who gets there first with a reliable server.
Also, what do they mean by communities?Such as us. Groups of like minded players who plan to play on the same server. Birds of a feather and such. Of all the EMU communities, we are known as the 'Mature Server' because of our mutual respect and intelligent dialog.
What is the importance of creating communities before the game launches? So we can get to know each other, join guilds, make plans, get a feel for the attitudes of the players and make an informed decision about which of the communities is closest to your own way of thinking.
Is our community going to have its own planet in the game?Yes, there are talks of adding in new planets, if agreed by the community. There will definitely be one new planat - Tanaab. This was in the original game, but SOE never activated it on the live game. Additionally, we are adding not just a planet, but even new game mechanics (ie, smugglers that can smuggle, and capital ships). Of course the whole set of additions must first be approved by the community, then it must be scripted and this could take time. We plan also to add content that will not alter the game mechanics (like new housing designs, new armor, and so on); minor changes that will improve your star wars experience.
Does this community has enough resources (money, time, computers stuff) to host its own server?Brokensoldier (and some other site admins if I'm correct) will be putting up the capital to fund the server. As of this date they will not be accepting donations to help fund the server (I would certainly be more then willing to pitch in if they ever needed it). I don't know how they can afford it but, they have given their word to be the last EMU server standing.
How many players would be able to play online at the same time on the server? The latest information says actual code will have an online cap of 2000 players, regardless of the connection. Our connection (bandwidth and speed) could theoretically hold well over 3000 players at once, but we can bump that to 5000 should we have the need.
What is the current size of our community (estimated)? As of this post, 2773. This increases daily.
I have the original SWG version. I never purchased any expansion or enhancement. In case the serve can host vehicles, will I be able to use them with my original SWG version or will I need to have the expansion that came out for it?We will be able to add many of the 'enhancements' that you had to pay for, like Barc speeders and the Mustafar skiff.
